4G VoLTE Support

Chubb Introducing VoLTE

Update on our succesful implementation and customer testing of VoLTE.

 

Cellular was seen as the answer for so many to solve the fixed line switchover from analogue to digital impacting Telecare.

However with rapid advancements in 5G and beyond, plus further consolidation of providers in the UK, we are seeing 3G being sunset and changes to 2G roaming as providers look to modernise their networks and provide best value, having a direct impact on how voice is supported for Telecare Service Users.

At Chubb we future proofed our CareUnity Dispersed Alarm Units by enabling VoLTE which has been proven to provide a high quality voice experience and fewer speech path failures to legacy 2G and 3G.

From Angus Council:
“Until we enabled VoLTE we were having an ever increasing number of speech path failures on calls we received into our ARC from Service Users.
After fully testing VoLTE, we are now well through its rollout, and the number of SP failures has dropped dramatically, with no detriment in any other aspect of operation and service.
In fact, when we now get a SP failure, we immediately target that unit, check its VoLTE compliance and then request Mobius to enable VoLTE on that SIM. We then see an immediate fix with speech being returned when we test call the unit.
I would recommend that all customers enable VoLTE as a matter of priority.”
