By way of background, Essex County Council has commissioned Socitm Advisory to undertake an independent review of the social care assistive technology (AT) landscape to inform their future procurement of solutions. By AT, we predominantly mean technology to support independent living. To include telecare, assistive devices, remote (telehealth) monitoring, life style monitoring / home sensors, virtual solutions for social interaction and digital support for dementia.
Our review is both looking at the current AT experience, adoption and solution landscape but more crucially considering future trends in care tech – technology, market and commercial / delivery options.
As well as informing ECC’s care technology strategy, it’s intended that Socitm will publish key findings from the report on a wider basis.
